It’s the time of year to be thankful for the beautiful harvest and all of the supporters of the Apple Hill Growers Association. We are a non-profit farming association which now represents over 50 farms, orchards, wineries and cideries. Our association strives to protect the charm and traditions of the farms we represent and to sustain agriculture in our region. Part of our mission is to focus on the needs of youth in our area by providing positive experiences and resources that cultivate a connection between agriculture, food, and natural resources. We do this by giving back through college scholarships, contributing to El Dorado County’s Ag-in-the-Classroom program, sponsoring the Apple Hill Harvest Run which raises money for the Camino Union School District and more. We’d like to thank our partners who make this possible including Nugget Markets and Forklift by Nugget Markets, Whole Foods Market, El Dorado Disposal, and SMUD.
We also encourage you to visit the many local nearby businesses who support the Apple Hill Growers Association as well. If you’re looking for a spot to dine and sip while making a visit to our farms, we have some fantastic recommendations here. Looking overnight accommodations? Here are nearby places to stay. Don’t miss these unique attractions and things to explore while you’re enjoying our Apple Hill farms. A few other nearby businesses that support he Apple Hill Growers…please support them in return!
Christmas Trees
There’s no better way to create wonderful traditions with your family than by joining our families to choose your holiday tree. Now is a great time to visit our family farms and get your family ready for the holidays! Some are open this week and all Apple Hill tree farms will be open the weekend after Thanksgiving. Visitors can pick their own tree, and in many places, cut it down themselves, while bake shops and wineries are bustling with the holiday spirit.
