Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre

I think the old saying is, “Give a person a glass of wine, and they’ll be content for a day….Teach a person how to blend wine and they’ll be happy for life (with lots of new yet educated opinions)!”

For this reason, we are doing our GSM blending event in January–the chance to learn more about what you like in wine! And we’ve opened up a Sunday afternoon class from 1-3pm on the 28th!

For those of you who don’t know the term GSM, this denotes a Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre blend popularized by Australian winemakers but rooted in the southern Rhone of France. Essentially, it’s taking three varieties that each have unique aspects that in the aggregate can a make an even better wine.

For our class (which is limited to 24 people), we will be tasting the 2022 vintage of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Then with pipettes, graduated cylinders and math, you’ll have the opportunity to start blending, determining how your palate finds the union of these three wines.
