Bring the Family to Apple Hill Grower Farms for Some U-Pick Fun – from Fruit to Flowers
Looking for some family fun? Summer and early Fall are a great time to visit the farms of the Apple Hill Growers. Several farms are offering interactive U-Pick experiences for their seasonal crops
24Carrot Farms: Currently, visitors can pick their own strawberries and blackberries. now, Sunflowers, zinnias, marigolds, gomphrena, rudbekia, snapdragons, celosias and bachelor’s buttons can be picked and combined in stunning bouquets for $7 for ten stems. Sign up for their weekly newsletter for updates on what’s available as it changes every week. Open Thursday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Harris Family Farm: Flowers and blackberries are ripe for the picking right now. Our bake shop is open and thee are plenty of Kids’ activities available. Check back for pumpkins this fall. Open Thursday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
O’Halloran’s Apple Trail Ranch: New this year are u-pick flowers that can be gathered for beautiful bouquets. Later in the season you can find u-pick pumpkins (mid Sept) and Xmas trees! Open 7 days a week, 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
PPine-O-Mine Ranch: The apples are ready for u-pick starting on Sept. 3rd. This will be one of only a small number of u-pick apple farms this year. Later in the season there will be u-pick pumpkins, too. Open Friday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Smokey Ridge Ranch: Visitors can pick their own fresh bouquets from flowers grown right on the farm. In the fall, the ranch offers u-pick pumpkins and chestnuts for those unforgettable holiday desserts and goodies. Open Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Check back in the Fall for other u-pick offerings including pumpkins at many farms, and veggies and pears will be ready for u-pick at Sloan Winters Mountain Orchard in mid Sept.
